Caleb Liu

Caleb Liu is an Asian-American composer for film and media. He has scored 25+ projects, with multiple Best Original Score wins at Oscar-qualifying festivals, along with additional nominations and awards.

A Stanford computer science graduate, Caleb is drawn to stories that look directly at what technological innovation does to humanity and what kind of world we’re choosing to build.

Chinese American with immigrant roots, he’s especially moved by underdogs who are overlooked and underestimated. He appreicates when characters and worlds preserve culturally accurate details.

Musically, he grew up in the orchestra (tuba) and at the piano, and he’s played across chamber, jazz, and rock ensembles. He also produces pop and folk with singer-songwriters.

Caleb also loves film. He enjoys directing his own films, working on set with his friends, going to the theater, and learning the technical aspects of production through his day job as an engineer at The Walt Disney Studios.
